Sadly and ironically Reagan’s “Let It Burn” policy was actually the right thing to do after 100 years of trying to put out every single flare up.

He did the right thing on that one, he listened to progressive scientists, and bucked entrenched tradition.

Great cartoon but I am totally over supposed to be caring about the battle between George v. Kellyanne Conway.

That bald Carvill guy and his obnoxious asshole wife did it already and they did it better, it looks like the Conways are badly auditioning for a TV show or book deal. (not like the Anonymous one that Kellyanne just wrote)

On an unrelated topic, I’ve been using a more or less antique (nearly 40 year old) food processor (GE brand, no less) since I inherited it from my mother a couple decades ago. I’m now officially done with it, despite the fact it still works as well as it ever did (which is to say, not well.)

Does anyone have an opinion on whether I should head for Costco and get a $100-$150 Cuisinart or Kitchen Aid or whatever they have laying about, or spring for the $250-$275 Breville. Within that general range, price isn’t really an issue, though one doesn’t like to spend unnecessarily. The Breville does look like it does a better job, but every brand has plenty of bad reviews.

A traffic light goes out? Muslims! Bananas overripe? Muslims!
People have no imagination.

There is hope. Someone on FR was saying Muslims were starting all the CA wildfires and another Freeper pointed out that it would be completely out of character for anyone to be starting fires as a terror tactic and never once claim credit. A rare outbreak of logic.

Logic on FR? Wow

Everyone hates the Yankees. My third favorite team after the O’s and Pirates is whoever is playing the Yankees. My fourth is who is playing the Red Sox.

Ah, the Red Sox hate rears its head. And think, just about this time last year…

There was one very good team playing in these five games, and there was one great one. The former heads into another winter wondering what it will take to win it all. The latter will be parading down Boylston Street sometime around Halloween, and the glow from Sunday night’s cathartic ending might last straight through to Christmas.

I’ve been an Astros fan since 1977 (I was six). The first game I went to at the Astrodome, they played the Montreal Expos (now the Washington Nationals). The Astros lost the game, but I couldn’t figure out why because I added up all the runs, hits, and errors, and the Astros had more than the Expos. They’re about to lose the Series, but the last three years have been a blast. Plus, it’s something other than our shared hatred of Trump that I can talk about with my family.

My team has your former Asst GM. I really hope we can have what you’ve had.

I’m an Orioles fan. Of course I root against the Red Sox in the same way Red Sox fans root against the Yankees. It’s not personal, it’s business.

Kemp defeated Abrams because of his previous rounds of voter purges; his party is continuing that practice to undermine our democracy and retain control of the Senate.

Is it just me or does that not sound like that much? If you have a death rate of a little under 1% per year and you purge the rolls once every 4 years wouldn’t you expect to have to remove about that many names?

Except that he already did several major rounds of purges in 2018. This is another 4% on top of that.
